Who

Hi, I’m Michelle Edwards, CPA. I’m the face behind Trailhead Accounting Solutions. I started my accounting career as an intern at one of the Big 4 accounting firms. It was an incredible summer and helped me quickly realize that I was not fit to be a cog in a large company. I wanted freedom, I wanted to let my personality shine, I desired creativity, and I wanted to work directly with the customers.

I moved on to be an accountant for a successful real estate and rental locating company in Boulder, CO. I loved that job. I got to work directly with the business owners in helping make decisions, analyzing the financial statements, creating budgets, doing the bookkeeping, organizing an accounting department, and understanding what keeps business owners up at night. I fed off the entrepreneurial spirit this company offered – it was exciting, continually changing, and they were always open to new ideas. After working as their CFO for 11 years, I decided it was time for a change.

After having children, I dreamed a life of more freedom and more flexibility. I wanted to be home with my kids, have the flexibility to volunteer in their classrooms, and have a career. Let’s face it, I wanted it all! I also wanted to be in control of my own destiny. I thought long and hard before making the leap and joining the world of entrepreneurs. But it felt right, I was excited and inspired to follow my heart, reach for the stars, and chase the American Dream. That’s when Trailhead Accounting Solutions began.

Trailhead Accounting Solutions was founded in May of 2010.

We proudly serve local businesses in the Denver, Boulder, Broomfield, Longmont, Westminster, Thornton, Louisville, and Lafayette areas. We also serve businesses located throughout the US by leveraging SAAS and cloud computing technologies.
